A Couple of Changes

Other things have got in the way recently and I've not had much opportunity to work on photographs for the site.

However, I'm going to be working on some new parts to the site and changing a few things around, hopefully for the better. I'm intending to start implementing these changes over the festive period, time allowing.

Three of the same

When we visited the Isle of Lewis we spent many an hour on the fabulous beaches that surround the island.

North Tolsta was close to where we were staying and it was a beach we frequented most days for a walk and to fly our kite.

The first photograph below is the original I took whilst the middle is a B&W version and the third is a recent colour version I produced for a competition at a camera club I have recently joined.

I have just returned from our holiday this year where we spent just over two weeks traveling around China. We began our journey in Beijing and also visited Xi'an, Lijian, Shangri-la, Guilin, Yangshuo, Longji and Shanghai!

It was an incredible trip with so many amazing experiences. We visited the Great Wall and Terracotta Warriors, sailed through the Karst Peaks and hiked through the rice terraces.

I've also taken quite a number of photographs which I need to sort through and will share them online in due course.

I will also write up a more detailed review of our trip.

Revisiting Japan

I have recently spent some time revisiting photographs from my first trip to Japan in 2006 which was also the first main holiday I took with my now wife. It was also my first time using a DSLR.

It has been nice looking at old photographs, working on some and sharing some, both a gallery of photographs from Tsukiji Market and also a selection of postings in my photoblog. More to come.

Glencoe Gallery

I have revisited my Glencoe gallery and it's out with the old and in with the new as they say.

Photographs taken last summer have been replaced by ones that I have taken during two recent trips.

I feel they are an improvement on what I shot last year as a result of both practice and my new found knowledge in using Photoshop to bring out the best in them.
