Frozen in Motion

I had the opportunity to take some photographs last weekend on the Northumberland coast and spent the first few hours of sunrise at Bamburgh Castle. Later that day we visited the Holy Isle which is where this photograph was taken.

As we walked around the island and reached Lindisfarne Castle I spent some time down by the water photographing the old pier groins reaching up to the clouds, capturing a moment in time.

At sunrise there wasn't a cloud in the sky yet by early afternoon an incredible cloud formation had formed, set in front of a blue sky with the sun beating down lighting up the top of the clouds.
