It's Already March

With some free time in the lighter evenings over the past week I have moved to the coast and explored photographs from across the last five years, developing some new work.

Of the two images below, the one of the left is from 2022, shot on a very sunny day, for Scotland. Whilst not a photography outing, I had my camera with me, and the light and shapes caught my eye as I walked along the beach.

I grabbed a few shots, some work better than others, but the idea is now embedded in my mind and when I find myself on a beach looking down at my feet, I will be thinking about developing this series.

The image on the right dates back to 2019 and is a very different composition from what I actually captured. Looking at it now, it is the varied movement of the water set against the structure of the rocks that engages me. Another idea to develop in the future.

Whilst I have not had a plethora of outings this year, a combination of conditions and other commitments, it is about taking advantage of the opportunities and identifying future possibilities.

Those times where I have managed to get a few shots, I have been at locations I know well, and have gone out with some ideas in mind, and new locations where I am assessing the possiblities, and shots, which appeal to me.

Earlier today I was down by the coast with Kirsty camping at a location I have not shot from before. What I originally envisaged working did not, but as weather conditions changed other opportunities presented themselves and I may have an image or two in the works.

Regardless, I have the excitement of new ideas.
