Liberating Manhattan

This was the first time visiting New York that we had been able to visit Liberty Island. Unfortunately tickets were all sold out for the Crown but it was nice to see the Statue of Liberty up close and have a walk around the island.

Liberating Manhattan looks back towards the Financial District of New York from the pier on the eastern side of the island. I believe you can also see the Empire State Building in the distance.

This photograph was a 57 second exposure taken in blustery conditions. Less than a minute after taking this the clouds opened and the camera was packed away.
