Skating on Ice

It has been a long time, nearly a year, since my last journal entry. And being honest, I didn’t do much better sharing new work on social media last year either.

This year I am taking a more proactive approach and trying to share new work on a regular basis.

So far I think I am been successful at doing this on social media and now I want to extend it to my website and my intention is to share the work here first, either as journal entries or in galleries.

So this is the first attempt at my new approach.

When I have other plans I know that is the time great conditions will present themselves and one Sunday morning back in January was such a day.

Waking up, the fog has descended on the City Centre, but so had the freezing temperatures which resulted in the morning dew freezing turning literally every pavement and road to sheet ice.

With limited time, these conditions didn’t help as it took me much longer to get to the park leaving me with even less time to with the camera.

The three images below are the result of a very short outing before I had to skate home. I enjoyed exploring new compositions and I am happy with the contrast, albeit I think there is more to come from them
