Great Wall Hole

On walking along an original part of the Great Wall we came across this dilapidated turret with the wall disappearing into the distance.

The Great Wall is of sight to behold of incredible scale. We visited Jingshanling which, given it's location more than 2 hours from Beijing, is particularly quiet with few tourists. It also offers the opportunity to hike along original parts of the Great Wall unlike other locations which have been largely refurbished.

This is the first photograph taken in China that I have posted on my website with many more to come. In addition to posting photographs here on my photoblog I will be creating a number of galleries containing photographs taken throughout our trip around China.
