Sea and Signal

Sticking to the Suffolk Coast, I found these structures scattered on beaches, particularly around towns and villages on the coast. I believe, although could be entirely wrong, that they were used to warn ships of the coast.

This particular structure was taken near Aldeburgh at sunrise.
